The Mitternacht Society is a new original forum game and we're looking for some
more interesting and original characters to add to the cast list.
The game is multi-genre so it includes anything from slice of life to fighting
as well as some magical attributes that will show up throughout game play as
directed by the moderators. It will be slow paced for those with a busy schedule
but move along comfortably for those with more time so you can decide how much
you want to invest in the game by creating a certain type of character (see the
rules).
This is not post-apocalyptic or horror although characters can be injured and
killed (and ressed by our mortician) and it is not a super fluffy game. We
think it's pretty well balanced somewhere in the middle the way we have it set
up. We're going to be mixing it up a bit by offering different types of games
within the game itself. The moderation team is very open to ideas and
suggestions and we hope to implement ideas from all players.
Applications are required and while we don't expect novels, you should have your
character fleshed out pretty well before playing. The mod team will help make
sure you have a solid and interesting character before accepting you. All we
ask is that you are open to an honest critique and willing to hear out all
suggestions by the mods.
Premise:
Solena is just your normal run of the mill province. Residents go to school or
work, they go out to eat, drink, party, watch movies, golf what have you. It's
just a regular existence until one day you receive an envelope with your name
and address neatly written in calligraphy. As you carry it to your bedroom you
notice that there's a bit of weight to it and there's a small bulge on one side
so you open it and carefully pull the letter out. Tucked inside of it is a small
black metal pin that looks like a crescent moon eclipsing a sun.
The letter reads:
Congratulations, you have been cordially invited to join The Mitternacht
Society. Please do not share the contents of this letter with anyone.
Upon reviewing your background and information we, The Mitternacht Society, have
deemed you worthy to participate in a series of games and events. Please fill
out the following form and return it in the enclosed envelope promptly.
Should you decide to decline this invitation, simply dispose of the envelope and
all of its contents, you shall not receive any other invitation from The
Mitterncacht Society. The form must be signed and postmarked within three days
of receiving this letter in order for you to be considered an Honorary Member of
The Mitternacht Society. If the form is not returned it shall be considered a
declaration of your intent to decline the invitation.
Participants will be compensated for their time and participation for each game
played in the form of credits; for exceptional performance gifts and bonuses
will be rewarded. Participation is free; you will never be charged any fees at
any time.

Now you must decide. It certainly sounds like a tempting offer: money to play
games. What have you got to lose? Maybe you decide to join for the money or
maybe you're just bored and this sounds like an interesting way to cure your
boredom. Whatever the reason, you've just dropped the return envelope in the
mail box and as you turn away you touch the black pin that is now affixed to
your clothing or bag. All that's left to do is wait for your orientation packet
to arrive.
