The Creation
Name: Dmitri Nokt
Nickname: Nox
Species:Vampire
Gender: Male
Age & Birthday: October 4, 1992 (17 yrs of age)
Appearance:
Dmitri cuts a slight five foot five inch frame with a sinewy musculature and strong features. His complexion is unusual in that it is a pale, sort of sickly looking olive color thanks in part to his Greek and Italian ancestry, and partly due to his species. Dmitri’s short frame is accentuated by his long, gangly limbs and graceful, spidery hands that strike quickly and surely and never miss what they are aiming for. Pointed, sloping shoulders give the appearance of sharpness to his bodily features, as well as a tension and sense of brooding in his manner.
Beneath a curtain of touseled raven locks there is a thin, angular face and a pair of shrewd, calculating, and cold amber eyes, outlined in long lashes and set under a lilting sweep of black brows, always arrested in a sardonic and nonchalant expression. Pale lips, carved from the hardest marble, rest in a detached sneer beneath a sculpted nose. His silhouette is not very large, but his presence is striking and leaves people feeling ill at ease.
Attire:
Dmitri’s attire is as dark and brooding as his personality. Suits or closely buttoned jackets are common, accompanied by dark collared shirts and ties or scarves, designed to hide his pale, sickly skin from prying eyes. Always clean, polished, professional, and…well, cold, Dmitri always wears closely tailored clothes for functionality. You never know when you will encounter combat, and clothes must not be a hindrance. He usually wears some sort of polished black shoe, or boots on occasion, all with thin soles so as to be able to feel the approach of enemies…or friends. He is also known to wear close-fitting black leather gloves. Dmitri keeps his wand tucked into the inside pocket of his jacket, next to his heart, ready at a moment’s notice for action. Before he became a vampire he would also wear a thin layer of metal body armor…for protection. One can never be too careful.
House (If applicable): Sanguini
Wand:thin 14 inch Ebony Wood with a Chaemera Scale Core
Patronus: a raven
Boggart: himself, at the mercy of another
The Potential
Alignment/Occupation: Desmodus(in training); alignment to the Dark Lord
Personality:
By definition, Dmitri possesses a dark and brooding nature, and can be very reserved and slow to speak…well except for a biting wit and a sharp tongue that cuts to the quick. His sarcasm is one of his most pervading features, and accompanies his pessimistic attitudes in a toxic match. There is an air of sharpness to Dmitri’s presence that leaves others feeling pricked or ill at ease. When you first meet him, he comes off as abrasive, but underneath the façade of cold indifference and sardonic arrogance, there is a deeply profound and intelligent individual. When he does not wish to make himself known, his presence is easily overlooked and the element of surprise is one of his most valuable assets. This is partly because elusiveness is naturally in his personality, and partly because he has carefully trained himself to be aware of everyone and everything around him, and to be as silent and fleet as the night itself.
Though he may come off as vain and arrogant, always having an opinion that is purposely in opposition to persons above him, he is generally gentlemanly, and knows when to act civil, though at times his quick temper gets the best of him. Dmitri is extremely secretive and introverted when it comes to his personal matters, and has much difficulty opening up to people for lack of trust in other people. It takes a lot to earn his trust, and once you have it, it is easily lost. His sense of loyalty is also somewhat skewed, leading to hardships in relationships and a pervading sense of detachment on his part. Let’s just say he doesn’t have many friends. He can also be flippant in his loyalties, and often makes alliances based on who has the better offer.
Dmitri can be described as bitter. Bitter about his loss of human soul to eternal damnation, and bitter about his life amongst humans as well. This has been a main source of conflict in his life...and leads him to question faith, and humanity, and himself all the time.
Beneath all his swagger and suave personage, Dmitri is extremely intelligent, shrewd, and observant. He’s got a soft, academic underbelly with a keen desire for knowledge and desire to learn to match. His ability to persuade, seduce, and manipulate serves him well as a vampire. Because of his stealth and grace, he’s your best bet when it comes to spying and espionage. He is also gifted with Occlumency, which is one of his greatest assets when deriving necessary information from prisoners. He will also achieve the objective, whatever it may be. First and foremost to him is the objective, and nothing else. He will not rest until the task is completed.
OH, and did I forget to mention, he absolutely LOATHES humans. Detests they're very existence...except for Voldemort, that is.

The Story
History:
From the outset, Dmitri’s life has been nothing but tumult and turmoil. On his father’s side there is a long lineage of pureblooded wizards and witches that travels back to the Renaissance era, ending with his father, a quick tempered, dark wizard named Vincenzo Nokt. In his mother, Vanessa’s family, however, there was a tradition of mudbloods, purebloods, and every sort of bloodline. Vanessa herself was a Squib of little to know talent. From the beginning their relationship was deemed contemptible and Vincenzo’s marriage to a mudblood Squib was a source of embarrassment to the Nokt family and led to the eventual disowning of Vincenzo, Vanessa, and newly born son, Dmitri.
Their banishment from the family quickly soured the marriage between the mild tempered and kindly Vanessa and her hot collared husband. Vincenzo soon became abusive towards his wife, and eventually deserted the family altogether, leaving Vanessa to raise a child on her own. The two of them were forced to live on the streets, roaming Knockturn and Diagon Alley, as well as Charing Crossroad and even certain parts of the Muggle world.
With the absence of a father figure, Dmitri grew up idolizing Dark witches and wizards such as Karkaroff, Lestrange, and even Voldemort himself. He also developed "sticky fingers" as they say, and became a master of the five finger discount. As he aged, his interest in the Dark Arts intensified. After the takeover by the Dark Lord and his minions, Dmitri deeply desired to be enrolled in the newly “renovated” Hogwarts, but his mother was against it, herself a dissenter of Voldemort and his evil ways. Vanessa was a part of the Order, but was not at that time under their care. Dmitri was often ostracized from the Order because he supported Voldemort. However, because of his circumstances he was forced to remain under the Order's constant care and teaching…at least, that was, until his father returned.
Vincenzo Nokt, in a drunken rage, returned to their home and proceeded to physically beat Vanessa and hex her beyond recognition. Dmitri was unable to defend her, as he was still a child, but he was clever and very adept with a wand, despite his young age. During the conflict, Dmitri’s wand was broken, but he was able to procure his father’s wand and used it to cast his very first killing curse, ending his father’s life.
Then, the young Dmitri, carried his mother, who was beaten within inches of her life and hexed to high heaven, to the only place he could think to bring her…Hogwarts, his imagined sanctuary. There, he pleaded desperately for help from the professors and even the headmaster, Severus Snape. However, when they refused, Vanessa died in her son’s arms on the front steps of the school. Snape, taking pity on the boy, took him in as a student. There was contension over which house he belonged in, since he was not a pureblood, and he was very clever and physically adept, but in the end he was placed in the house of Sanguini, where he prepared for his eternal fate as a vampire. He was then sired at the beginning of his seventh year by none other than Victor Basilio Sanguini. Therefore, although it is a constant source of bitterness that he no longer has a soul, Dmitri would never have traded his fate for any other.
Also thereafter, his father’s wand was loyal to him, and remains a bitter reminder of the life he left behind.

[/u][/center]They turned as they heard Beast thudding down the stairs. There was a loud crash as Beast knocked over the tray of instruments. He hadn't seen them in the half-light and scrambled to pick up some of the medical devices. He looked over to the others, who were staring at him. Beast straightened, dropping the instruments and bringing his hands up to straighten his jacket. He cleared his throat roughly and took on a stern gaze.
"Right then, so uh, what were you saying?" Gwen's expression was a mixture of exasperation and amusement. She opened her mouth to speak, but instead turned back to Echo, afraid if she spoke to him she would burst into laughter. She bit her lip. Echo looked at them both. She was not amused, though she had to admit, Beast's less than graceful entrance had lightened the mood. She glanced at the scientists, who seemed if possible even more terrified that there was a giant blue man in their midst.
"Yeah," sighed Echo. She didn't really want to let the scientists out. Let them rot down here. What do I care? She pushed these thoughts aside however when she saw the pained expression on Angel's face. She rolled her eyes.
"Plug your ears and kindly step away from the cage," sarcasm was evident in her words. "That includes you all," she looked pointedly at the scientists. Worthington and the others huddled in a corner and stuck their fingers in their ears, as did the mutants.
Echo considered the metal for a moment then let out a low pitched tone. The metal of the cage vibrated but didn't budge. She tried a higher tone on the same breath. Still no effect. She went even higher, now causing the light above them to flicker and vibrate, casting strange shadows. Finally, there was a loud pop as the hinges of the cage door shattered and flew everywhere. Everyone covered their heads. Echo stopped and gasped for breath. She felt a bit woozy. She looked around, seeing double. Damn Magneto and his steel death traps she thought wobbling over to the wall

Toad was about to explode with nerves when he heard Evie's soft reply. "Alright" she said. Then she said, "When?" casually, as if it were nothing tremendously important. For a moment Toad didn't answer. Her response hadn't quite registered with him. He had been preparing for the slam of a door in his face, whereupon he would return to his bunk and loathe his very existence. He was thinking of how best to drown his pitiful sorrows when her words finally struck him. Toad's chest involuntarily clenched as he realized what was happening.
Evie looked at him strangely. "Hello," she said, waving her hand in front of his face.
"R-r-right then. um, W-when?, " stammered Toad, his voice rising an octave in pitch. He stood in the doorway, trembling. Evie sighed.
"How about Thursday...say, eight?"
"Th-thursday? ..Eight?..s-s-sure." struggled Toad, still not believing this was happening.
"Well, that's settled. You know where to find me," she smirked coyly, leaning close and pushing Toad back a step so she could close the door. "Good night."
The door closed with a soft click. "G-good night," said Toad still staring at the door. He turned slowly and walked back down the hallway. His brain twitched
