History:
Cassieopia Elenore Thurgoode was born to the esteemed and frantically excited couple, Perceus and Lacerta Thurgoode in a cloudy day on October 3rd, 1978. Much to her father’s surprise, Cassieopia had actually come out of her mother’s womb with the undoubtedly and completely opposite body parts that he was so expecting. The infant that lay staring madly up at him in a quiet stupor, was indeed a girl.
“She has your cheeks.” Lacerta had squeaked quietly, drenched in sweat atop of her cot.
“…Indeed, she has!” Perceus had gasped.
At that moment, Perceus Thurgoode had fallen hopelessly, and completely in love with his daughter.
“She will go to Hogwarts!” He proclaimed, the moment Cassie began to stand on her two clumsy and pudgy infant feet.
“…And she will be proudly sorted into Hufflepuff, like her grandfather and father before her!”
Lacerta had smiled, nothing more. For, she had no clue what in the world Hogwarts was. Although she knew of her husband’s devout love for his daughter, she was sure it was nothing horrid. Even though it sounded quite peculiar. And, what was this Hufflepuff? It sounded like a silly but delicious brand of cheese snacks.
It was peculiar how Lacerta was whisked away in this world of her husband’s. They had fallen in love at a muggle Astronomy meet. Just one measly astronomy meet, and the moment she layed eyes on him, it was like the world had been shifted into place. He was there, smiling as a young and blustering man would. He was so full of life, and that is what she was attracted to. Life. Little did she know there was an underground society of magical individuals. And Lacerta Thurgoode was a being that many described as a ‘muggle’.
By the age of five, Cassieopia (named after a constellation in the northern sky) began to show utmost challenging qualities. It seemed that already at the young age of a toddler, her personality showed an increasing strength. She was a pronounced little witch, and her wizarding father had undoubtedly passed on his abilities to his most cherished and beloved daughter.
Cassie can still remember some of her bubbling, young days as a child. The summers were long, and she can recall the flashes of her younger father’s smiling face upon her. She even remembered her first day of Muggle schooling. After that long five-year-old summer, Lacerta requested that she be enrolled in J. Luther Public Elementary, an of course public school that Cassie had lived very near to, throughout the beginning stages of her life. They resided in northern London, within a small and peculiar flat filled with flowers, and a pristine yellow wallpaper lined with everything that can be considered floral.
At the age of eight, her meek brother was born; and his name was Perceus jr. Thurgoode. He was always a sickly boy, with a fantastic mop of dark brown hair, and dark (almost black) hued eyes. Immediately, there was an attatchment between the two siblings, resulting in of course a motherly instinct to protect her small and feeble brother. Throughout their lives, Cassieopia was determined to give her brother a comfortable situation, no matter what the cost. This was in her natural, and determined compassion to defend her pack.
At the age of twelve, Cassie had dutifully received her well and long-expected letter to Hogwarts; School of Witchcraft and wizardry. And a few short years later, she would find out that Perceus jr. did not. It was evident that her compassionate brother was not an individual of Magical Quality. Within a year later, Perseus had passed away from a violent and infectious fever.
By then, Cassie had been sorted into a house that completely suited her (but definitely not her father’s) Needs. The esteemed house that held the pure of heart. Gryffindoor.
By the death of her brother, Cassie had missed almost a long month of dedicated schooling. The family was extremely devastated. In grief, Cassie began to act out wildly in the classroom. There was always mischief in each of her classes, caused by our light-blond teenaged heartthrob. (And indeed, she was popular with the boys although, she had no idea of this situation) Cassie had began to develop into the boisterous class clown, frequently keeping her often boring and dullest of classes in an esteemed uproar. She hung out with mostly bumbling boys of her age, and in the classiest of ways, of course.
Within her Hogwarts years, Cassieopia had developed tastes in Transfiguration, Care of Magical Creatures, and had advanced a taste for many interesting, and exotic Hexes. One hex that was her favorite involved turning a Man’s tongue blue whenever lying about a past fornication. She had acquired it in a spell book near the restricted section of the library. The spell was originated in southern Bulgaria, and was used by many wives of the night. She of course at the age of fifteen found it of the highest hilarity, and made sure to make a mental note for future circumstances.
After her eventual highlighted Hogwarts graduation, Cassieopia dwelled with the company of her two now elder parents, and stayed there until the age of 19. She felt an incidental need to take care of her Muggled mother, and wizard father. Almost immediately after her Hogwarts degree and recommendation for her high marks in Care of Magical Creatures, Cassieopia decided to take up a job in the Ministry of Magic, alongside her father, Perceus, in the Spirit Division and Management of the Department for the regulation and control of Magical Creatures. This was of course, the plan from day one with Perceus; to eventually work alongside her daughter and take care of his ‘family buisness’ so to speak. So, Perceus’s reaction to the sudden descision of his only daughter was one of a stunned, and estatic nature. His face quarked in a happy but relieved sort of stare, as she sat both of her beloved and then quizzical mother and father down for the discussion about her eventual career.
For three years she had worked diligently and with robust in the Spirit Division of the Department for the Care of Magical Creatures. The job was less than simple; Cataloging sightings of certain spirit beats that needed to be carefully described by the sighters, and put away in a file that would possibly never see the light of day again.
Also, the back room was a challenge. Within the back room of the Spirit Division floor, was a place of dwellings for such captured magical creatures. It was a room that seemed endless, and there, these known dangerous Spirit creatures were frozen by a Petrification spell for eternity. It was an Eerie place.
Statues everywhere, no walls on either side of the room, and almost complete darkness. None of Cassie’s collegues would ever possibly fathom or dare to even motion or nudge their finger towards the dark, and platinum solid door of the back room.
It was this room that had banished our well known and loved Cassieopia to a place every wizard dreads the most. This one, disgusting excuse for a room that had sent her to her near death for supposedly, the rest of her years. And it was that day, four years before the post-war darkness that had changed the course of her lifetime.
But, going back a little bit…
Perceus had died naturally of a Heart Attack in his old age, two years before Cassieopia’s fateful incedent. On his deathbed, he had admitted to Cassieopia that he was an undercover Order Member for the Ministry, and on of his wishes was that his only gentle and loved daughter would walk his path into Adulthood. And with his death, Cassie had adopted her Father’s role as The Manager of the Spirit Division. She had worked with passion for two years, to fufill her father’s dying dreams in the workplace. In fact, her mother had often inquired that Cassie resign from the job, because it was distressing her so.
Cassie had become Spirit Division obsessed, and Working all hours of the night. Many people in the Ministry had began to suspect her odd ways, staying in her office until 2:00 AM. Especially, if you are in the controlling of those that resided in such Spirit Division. It was the floor of The Ministry of Magic, where the dealings of dark supernatural spirits that are extremely deadly and rated a high XXXXX by Board members before her time, it was the place where they had all the information in the world about certain Dementors.
These were the creatures of highest concern within the Ministry at the Moment, and with the high possibilities of a Dementor attack four years before the darkness. The Ministry, after the attack on Harry Potter, began turning heads in Cassieopia department. Whispers roamed the halls of Cassie being a distant cousin of the well known Delacroix family, the supposed founders, and obsessed clan of such creatures.
Whilst Cassie of course denied these preposterous rumors, they were still quietly circulated.
It was a week later after the persistence of these circulations, that the Ministry had released a wanted endorsement for the capture of the well-known and suspected witch Gweniveve Delacroix, sole survivor of the established Dementor Delacroix. She was known for tampering with Dementors for the attempted capture and murder of The infamous Boy who Lived. And was now also an out of the closet Death Eater, and avid follower of You-Know-Who.
The Ministry was appalled, when such a notice went out to wizarding families. If Gweniveve was indeed a pursuer of the Dark Arts, then would the now much discussed about Cassieopia Thurgoode be accomplices to such a dark and now devious witch?
A week later at 2:00 AM, Cassie was getting ready to pack up her files and move from her office to apparate to her warm, and awaiting cot of comfort. Her eyes drooped, as she quickly brushed her silver hair away from her cheeks. She was the only one that resided in her floor that night, and the only light that shone was the light that glowed atop of her furried desk, spread with documents and articles, some pinpointed our own Gweniveve Delecroix.
And then she appeared—The infamous wanted witch of A Delecroix. And before she could get anything out of that conniving mouth of hers, The Ministry had blasted through the doors of the elevator, and with a fight grabbed Gweniveve who screamed accusations towards Cassieopia.
“She MADE me do it! SHE has complete control of Dementors, not me!” and etc.
And they believed her. Quickly, Cassieopia was grabbed firmly by the arm, and became forced through a series of interrogations about the dealings of such a witch as Gweniveve Delecroix. They asked her questions that she knew no answer of, Put her through a speedy trial, and was convicted guilty from Cornelius Fudge, himself.
“You will rot in Azkaban with your pretty friend!” He had spat at her by the end of her trial.
And that is exactly where she resided, Azkaban. In a single cell, for four years. There, is where she was forced a tattoo upon her right forearm for her identification through the Azkaban system. And there, she waited.
For four years, she had developed just one single plan; to leave. Her years after her escape from Azkaban would be thrown into the Order of the Phoenix, a clan that her father would be more than proud of her to partner with. And in her experiences with the Death Eaters, she was too thrilled to get her revenge.
It was ten years ago in January, when she had the chance to escape. Two months before, Cassieopia had received word of her mother’s death inside her cell. Breathlessly as the cells opened and the bastard Barty Crouch jr stood at the end of the long hall, she crept her way down to the storage room, grabbed her belongings, stole a rugged, and dusted Nimbus 2000, and jetted out of the prison. She was on her way for information, to a place where she knew she belonged.
