The Creation
Name: Luna Longbottom (nee Lovegood)
Nickname: Loony, Lune, (insert pet names given by Neville here)
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Age & Birthday: April 9th, 1981 (26 years old)
Appearance:
Luna is as pretty and vague as she was when she was still a student at Hogwarts, although her uncertain sort of beauty has firmed up into something more prominent and lovely than before. What was once waist-length, poorly kept dirty blond hair is now clean, bright white-gold, locks that have been sheared to her shoulders with accompanying fringe. Her dreamy grey eyes are still unfocused occasionally, her thoughts somewhere far away.
Attire: Luna still has her proclivity for bright colors and strange accoutrements that she had when she was sixteen years old, and her favorite radish-shaped earrings usually dangle from her earlobes. Her belief is that colors affect one's mood and luck (mostly because of nargleworts, which judge how happy you are and dole out luck accordingly), and she feels that luck is key to overcoming the current situation. She often idly twines a bright scarf around her husband's neck, much to his amusement and chagrin.
House (If applicable): N/A
Wand: 9 inches, stout, holly and hippogriff feather
Patronus: Hare
Boggart: Various corpses of loved ones (Neville, Xenophilius, etc)
The Potential
Alignment/Occupation: The Order of the Phoenix
Personality: Dreamy and vague, Luna tends to be relatively odd and vacant, although far from scatterbrained or vapid. Things are more serious and dangerous than ever, and her hazy sort of personality often solidifies into something dependable, intelligent, and skilled. She spends less and less time in her own world and more of it in reality, working with her husband and the Order to fight to stay alive.
Skills:
- Excellent hexes and a strong patronus
- Singular mind; thinks in strange ways that leads to excellent puzzle solving and unique problem solving
- Strong knowledge of magical creatures
Strengths:
- Cheery and optimistic
- Resourceful
- More down-to-earth than she was ten years ago...
Weaknesses:
- Superstitious
- Occasionally an overprotective worrywart (hides it well)
- Physically fragile
The Story
History:
(All school information taken from the Harry Potter wiki, with bold-faced type being edits for the Sectumsempra timeline)
]In 1992, at the age of eleven, Luna started school at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Ravenclaw house. Because of her eccentricities, Luna did not have any friends in her early school years[3]; many other students made fun of her, calling her "Loony Lovegood" and taking her belongings. Luna seemed to take this all in stride, though, and never tried to change herself.
In Luna's fourth year, she met Harry Potter on the Hogwarts Express and shared a compartment on the train with him, Ginny Weasley, and Neville Longbottom; they were later joined by Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. At the time, Luna was reading her father's magazine, The Quibbler, upside down. She informed them that her father was the editor after Hermione insulted it. She laughed a little too loud at a joke of Ron's and stared at the others, which made her an odd travelling companion. However, she believed Harry's story about the return of Lord Voldemort and stood up for him once in front of a group of other fourth and fifth year students.
Thus, later in the year, Luna was invited to join Dumbledore's Army. She eagerly accepted, working hard along with the others and enjoying the company. In an effort to make people believe Harry's story, Hermione arranged an interview for him with Rita Skeeter at the Three Broomsticks, and Luna accompanied them and had her father publish the interview in The Quibbler.
Near the end of the year, Harry had a vision that his godfather Sirius Black was being tortured by Voldemort in the Department of Mysteries. She and Ginny stood guard while Harry and Hermione sneaked into Professor Umbridge's office to use the fireplace to try to contact Sirius, while Ron attempted to distract Umbridge. However, they were caught, along with Neville, by Umbridge and members of the Inquisitorial Squad. They were restrained and gagged, but Luna hardly seemed to notice, dreamily staring through the window as if bored. Harry and Hermione drew Umbridge away into the Forbidden Forest, and Luna, Ginny, Ron, and Neville managed to escape from the Slytherins using a variety of hexes and jinxes.
When they all met up again in the forest, Harry planned to go to the Ministry of Magic. Luna reminded Harry about the Thestrals and suggested using them to get to the Ministry, and then mounted her Thestral sidesaddle, "as though she did this every day." She also helped Ron, Hermione and Ginny mount their Thestrals, as the animals were invisible to them. The six D.A. members flew to the Ministry and entered the Department of Mysteries, where Luna heard voices coming from behind the Veil, just as Harry did. The group was soon ambushed by twelve Death Eaters.
Luna participated in the battle that ensued, injuring a Death Eater by blowing up a model of the planet Pluto in his face. She protected Ron, who had been hit with a spell that made him highly confused, and an injured Ginny. Luna was one of the last D.A. members to fall, eventually being stunned by a Death Eater. She survived the battle relatively unscathed.
At the end of the school year, Luna spoke to Harry, who was mourning the murder of his godfather and had found no comfort in talking to ghosts. Luna told him about her mother's death and her belief that she would see her again someday, which was a comforting thought to Harry.
That summer, Luna and her father went to Sweden using the money the Daily Prophet paid them to reprint The Quibbler's interview with Harry to see if they could catch a Crumple-Horned Snorkack.
The next year was Luna's O.W.L. year. On her way to Hogwarts, she shared a compartment with Harry and Neville on the train, and expressed her disappointment that Dumbledore's Army was not going to be restarted, remarking that she had enjoyed the meetings because "it was like having friends". When Romilda Vane asked Harry if he wanted to join her and her friends in another compartment, treating Luna and Neville with disdain, Harry coldly rebuffed her, stating that they were his friends. Luna observed that people expected Harry to associate with "cooler" people; he replied that she and Neville were cool, and among his closest and most trustworthy friends.
Later in the year, Luna attended Professor Slughorn's Christmas party when Harry asked her to come with him as a friend. While there, she conversed with multiple people, and took an interest in Sanguini the vampire.
Also that year, Luna would temporarily replace Zacharias Smith as Quidditch commentator for the school. Many found Luna's commentary highly amusing, as Luna forgot players' names and went off on tangents such as speculating that Smith was suffering from "Loser's Lurgy".
At the end of the school year, the castle came under attack by Death Eaters, and Luna was one of the few D.A. members to participate in the ensuing Battle of the Astronomy Tower, along with Neville, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione. Harry asked her and Hermione to watch Snape's office, which they did, but Snape told them that Death Eaters were in the castle and that they had to look after Professor Flitwick, whom he claimed had collapsed. After taking Felix Felicis from Harry, the D.A. members were almost untouchable, and all survived the battle unscathed except Neville, who was injured but soon recovered. Luna helped him into his seat when they attended Albus Dumbledore's funeral at the end of the school year, and it was then that something inside her stirred for the boy who would become her husband.
It was to a Death Eater-controlled Hogwarts that Luna returned for her sixth year. Severus Snape had been appointed headmaster and Death Eaters Amycus and Alecto Carrow professors. Early in the year, Luna, Ginny, and Neville attempted to steal the Gryffindor sword from the Headmaster's office. Snape caught them and sent them into the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid as punishment. The three of them revived and led Dumbledore's Army, which tried to sabotage the Death Eaters' control of the school and to help Harry, Ron and Hermione — who were off hunting down Voldemort's Horcruxes — in any way they could. Working together with Neville, their love blossomed. Both knew this was the wrong time to fall in love and they did their best to quash the feelings, but they were too strong...
On her way home over the Christmas holiday, Death Eaters captured Luna because her father had been printing stories in support of Harry.
It was believed that Luna was held captive at Azkaban, though she was actually imprisoned in the basement of the Malfoy Manor along with the famed wand-maker Ollivander, to whom she proved a great comfort. Her father was so desperate to get her back that he tried to turn Harry, Hermione and Ron over to the Ministry in exchange for her freedom; the trio escaped, but Hermione ensured that the Death Eaters Xenophilius called glimpsed Harry as they left, so that neither he nor Luna would be punished. The Lovegoods' home was largely destroyed when an Erumpent horn, which Xenophilius had believed to be a Crumple-Horned Snorkack's, blew up inside.
The prisoners in Malfoy Manor were soon joined by Harry, Ron, Dean Thomas, and Griphook the goblin, while Hermione was tortured for information upstairs by Bellatrix Lestrange. After Luna helped cut the ropes off their new cell-mates, Dobby the house-elf came to free them. He took Luna, Dean and Ollivander to Shell Cottage, the home of Bill and Fleur, and then returned to assist Harry, Hermione, Ron and Griphook in escaping the Manor. He died in rescuing them.
Luna stayed at the cottage for the remainder of the holidays, and when Dobby was buried, she closed the house elf's eyes and provided the eulogy, thanking him for rescuing her. During her stay, she practiced using a new wand that Ollivander had made for her. She also seems to have started a friendship with Dean. It is unknown what Luna did after Harry, Ron and Hermione left Shell Cottage in order to break into Gringotts Wizarding Bank, but she returned to Hogwarts in May when Neville signalled her as to the trio's return. All of Dumbledore's Army was reassembled and prepared to fight.
When the trio asked the Ravenclaw D.A. members if they were familiar with an item that had once belonged to their house founder, Luna mentioned the lost diadem. She took Harry to the Ravenclaw common room, answering the riddle to gain entrance, in order to see a replica of the diadem. There, she stunned Alecto Carrow, who was waiting for them per Voldemort's orders, and witnessed Professors Minerva McGonagall, Filius Flitwick and Pomona Sprout banish Snape, along with Harry. Luna then joined the battle rather than evacuating.
At one point, she, Ernie Macmillan and Seamus Finnigan helped Harry, Ron, and Hermione drive off a group of Dementors that attacked them by casting their Patronuses. Luna encouraged Harry to think of something happy, enabling him to finally summon a Patronus as well. Later, near the end of the battle, she fought against Bellatrix Lestrange next to Hermione and Ginny. When Bellatrix nearly hit Ginny with a Killing Curse, Molly Weasley stepped in and killed her.
After the final battle, whereupon she witnessed the death of Harry Potter, she escaped with Neville and the others to begin work with the Order. Realizing that things were going to get worse before they got better, and taking a leaf out of Bill and Fleur's book, she and Neville decided to marry regardless of the dark times. She now aids him as he leads the quiet work of the Order, her love and rather impressive wand-work fueling the fire of rebellion.

While the club was filled to the brim with wolf and vampyr alike, with a smattering of humans amongst it, there was one figure and one scent that was wrong. Sure there were werepyres and dunpiels and all sorts of derivatives as well, but this one? None of the above.
Had Reid been a woman, he might have been this woman. She was beautiful in all the ways he was handsome, with blonde curls sweeping her pale shoulders and vibrant, entrancing green eyes. Unlike most women with great beauty, she did not move like a predator through feeding grounds as she slowly made her way through the dance floor. In fact, she acted quite out of place, apologizing and excusing herself and generally being small and sweet and almost timid.
Well, not exactly like Reid, then. She didn't seem to be the type to help destitute prostitutes back on their feet, really. More like the type to sit and talk with them for several hours and make friends, strangely enough.
She finally made her way to the bar, and it became obvious why she was stumbling: she was dressed nicely for a night on the town. She wore a small black miniskirt that plastered itself to her long legs that were completely uncovered from her mid-thigh to her ankles. Large, shiny black platform shoes that closely resembled Mary Janes covered her small feet. Moving back up, her torso was enclosed in more black... this time a spider-silk thin cloth that was tied like a halter top, revealing her long, lithe arms and pale, round shoulders, as well as the delicate swell of her bare back.
The interesting part about her clothing wasn't that it was, well, sexy, but that she didn't wear it as though it was sexy. In fact, it was really all wrong... she wore no makeup and no jewelry (for what could compare to those eyes?). She was too... sweet, too feminine to be wearing such sexual, dark clothing. Had she been in a pink sundress, she would not have stood out so much.
As she came to stand at the bar, she only just was able to see over it, being a short five-foot-nothing in height. She started as she seemed to remember something, then ungracefully scrambled to sit on a bar stool. At that, the bartender leered his way over to her. Slowly, she unfolded a piece of paper and cleared her throat.
"I would li... I would li... I would like a gin and tonic with extra lime, please, if it would not be too much trouble." She seemed to have trouble with the work like. The tender, of course being used to such things, merely laughed and prepared her drink.
As she waited, she stared straight ahead, not looking around, not bothering with anything but putting the paper back... somewhere? It disappeared as she tucked it away, at any rate. She folded her hands neatly on the bar top and waited. The tender winked at her and handed her the drink in due time, and she thanked him politely, her sweet, clear voice almost lost amongst the blaring music and hubbub.
Her first reaction to the booze was priceless. She seemed never to have had alcohol before, because she had barely taken the smallest of sips before she jolted back, nearly falling off her stool, face contorted in surprise and disgust. She put the drink down as the barkeep laughed at her, taking the drink back.
"And how old are you, darlin'?" He teased, leaning towards her.
She paused to count on her fingers. "Four weeks."
"Four... whose are you?" He asked, eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"My creator is Alex Knight." She replied simply. Four weeks? Creator? This sounded nothing like any werewolf or vampyr. However, it seemed to make complete sense to the bartender, who grinned widely and put the drink back in front of her.
"Ah! You're Ula, then. You're welcome here any time, honey, and I'll just be putting your drinks on Knight's tab." With that, he bustled off, leaving the small female looking nervous.
"But... I do not think I like drinks..." she said timidly to no-one in particular, holding the gin tonic in her lap and swiveling on her stool to take in the rest of the bar scene.
